Dracaena marginata is a popular indoor plant with long, slender green leaves edged with red. These plants are great for beginners because they’re drought tolerant and not at all fussy about their light conditions.
This plant was also used in NASA’s clean Air Study and was shown to help remove formaldehyde from indoor air!
☀️ Marginata is a great indoor plant, they prefer medium light but can survive in low light. Direct light is not recommended, it will burn the leaves.
💧 Marginatas should be watered when the top 1 to 2 inches of soil is dry, we recommend using room temperature water for this plant. Yellow leaves are a sign that the plant needs to be watered more frequently, brown edges of a green leaf is a sign of overwatering.
🌡 Marginatas will thrive in temperatures of 65 degrees and higher, they do not do well in the cold. Low to medium humidity is best for this plant.
✨ We recommend monthly fertilizing during spring and summer with a slow-release fertilizer, if the leaf tips are brown you may be over fertilizing.
☠️ This plant is toxic to pets, if your pet likes to chew on leaves, we recommend you keep this one out of reach.
